17th International Grape and Wine Film Festival

Oenovideo is the world’s oldest and only festival dedicated to the valorization of the image of grape and wine through documentary films and cinema.
In 2010, the 17th festival will be held during four days, from 13 to 16th of may 2010, in the Camargue region of France, where the “vins des sables” are made on sandy soils, near the town of Aigues-Mortes. Festival goers will be invited to "Domaine de Jarras" (Domaines Listel), an exceptional setting where they will see the greatest concentrations of films and photos about grapes and wines from around the world.

“I learned much on the life and passions from the vintners, the spirit of the wine… I was very touched by certain films” Edouard Molinaro, president of the Grand Jury Oenovideo 2010 (Midi Libre Tuesday 18/05/2010)
A very international awards list
The 17th Oenovideo international grape and wine film festival has just ended. From 13 to 16 May, festival goers saw 29 films in competition from 17 countries. After the screenings, 11 films were recognised by the Grand Jury chaired by Edouard Molinaro, the partner juries and the public. Emotion was palpable among Oenovideo festival goers, who enjoyed films in a wide variety of styles and formats. These films, both fictions and documentaries, illustrate the creativity that flows when cinema, the grapevine and wine meet. The 2010 awards list confirms the festival’s international character, with awards going to productions from the USA, Spain, France, Luxembourg, New Zealand and Switzerland.
Press release
The 11 best films on grapes and wine in 2010
At the top of the 2010 awards list, two films subtly blended four essential ingredients: love, commitment, attachment to the land and an exceptional destiny. “The Seasons of Marie-Thérese Chappaz” won the Special Jury prize and the FIJEV award. This Swiss documentary directed by Fred Florey focuses on a biodynamic winegrower whose convictions are guided by her respect for nature and the love of a job well done. “The Vintner’s Luck” won the Best Feature Film award and the Imaginarium prize. This film by the New Zealand director Niki Caro is both sensorial and sensual and is magnificently acted. It conveys with much emotion the great mystery of love for the grapevine and wine.

Water in the Vineyard
Terroirs d’images, each year, select and exhibit gathers the best work from amateur and professional photographers based on a common theme.
Theme 2010: "Water in the Vineyard".
In Terroirs d'Images 2010, more than 1,500 photographs have been presented…
The work of the pre-selection committee of the 5th International Photo Exhibit on Grape and Wine is far from being simple: to select 110 photographs among the 1,500 works proposed by more than 172 photographers from 14 countries. The 110 best photographs will be presented during the Terroirs d'images Exhibit 2010 “Water in the Vineyard.”
The Intimacy and the Force of Nature
Water and the grapevine are two elements, intricately linked in the struggle for perpetual balance. The relationship between water and vineyard is in a state of constant flux, and is intimately intertwined at all moments, during the course of a day or a year: dew drops, morning mist, fog, rain showers, dark skies and electrical storms, snow flurries, icicles, and hail… each of these elements divulging hints of intricate detail or exploding in spectacular landscapes, wherein all the forces of nature abound.
